The wildfire season is off to big start this year.  During June we have already had two wildfires in our area, the Webb Fire and Number 2 Canyon Fire. Community members often reach out to the fire department as the wildfire season begins, so this is a good time for some helpful reminders.

  • Register for emergency notifications on Everbridge. Both Chelan County and Douglas County Emergency Management Departments use Everbridge to send out information during emergencies. Their websites are also a great resource in an emergency with evacuation levels and maps.  Consider bookmarking their websites for quick, real-time information.

  • Information on the current fire danger levels in the valley can be found on the Chelan County Fire Marshal webpage. Current danger levels are also posted at our fire stations.

  • The NOAA National Weather Service is a great resource to learn about hazardous weather conditions, including Red Flag Warnings throughout the area.

  • If you suspect a fire, please call 911 right away.

  • Remember that fireworks are banned in most of Chelan and Douglas Counties.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer. Please contact the department with your questions at 509-662-4734.
