Wildfire Preparation
The wildfire season is off to big start this year. During June we have already had two wildfires in our area, the Webb Fire and Number 2 Canyon Fire. Community members often reach out to the fire department as the wildfire season begins, so this is a good time for some helpful reminders.
Register for emergency notifications on Everbridge. Both Chelan County and Douglas County Emergency Management Departments use Everbridge to send out information during emergencies. Their websites are also a great resource in an emergency with evacuation levels and maps. Consider bookmarking their websites for quick, real-time information.
Information on the current fire danger levels in the valley can be found on the Chelan County Fire Marshal webpage. Current danger levels are also posted at our fire stations.
The NOAA National Weather Service is a great resource to learn about hazardous weather conditions, including Red Flag Warnings throughout the area.
If you suspect a fire, please call 911 right away.
Remember that fireworks are banned in most of Chelan and Douglas Counties.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer. Please contact the department with your questions at 509-662-4734.
