Fire Chief
Fire Chief Jon Perry brings more than 30 years of fire service and emergency medical services experience to the Wenatchee Valley Fire Department. A Wenatchee Valley native, Chief Perry, was born and raised in the community and graduated from Eastmont High School.
Chief Perry began his public safety career in 1996 as a paramedic with Johnson County Med-Act in Kansas before joining the Overland Park, Kansas, Fire Department in 1999. During his career in the Midwest, he served in a variety of operational, training, and leadership roles, including firefighter/paramedic, hazardous materials technician, training officer, and fire academy instructor.
In 2018, Chief Perry joined the Idaho Falls Fire Department as Training Division Chief, where he led firefighter and EMS training programs for more than 130 personnel. He later served as Deputy Chief of Operations and EMS, overseeing daily department operations, personnel, budgeting, and stakeholder relations.
Chief Perry earned Associate Degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Science, a Bachelor's Degree in General Education, and a Master of Public Affairs degree. He is committed to lifelong learning and believes strong leadership begins with investing in people, training, and service to the community.
Outside of the fire service, Chief Perry enjoys spending time with his wife, Stacey, their three children—Taylor, Cameron, and Spencer—and their four grandchildren. Family has always been at the center of his life, and he appreciates the opportunity to enjoy the Wenatchee Valley's outdoor recreation, natural beauty, and strong sense of community with those he loves most.
