Statewide Burn Ban August 1

Ban Details & Restrictions

• Duration: Effective August 1 through noon on September 30, 2026 across all 39 Washington counties.

• Prohibited: Yard debris, trash disposal, land clearing, roadside weed burning, agricultural burning (without specific active permits), bonfires, and open campfires. 

• Allowed: Self-contained gas or propane stoves and grills placed on non-flammable surfaces with proper clearance from vegetation (at least 5 feet away). 

• Local Rules: Local jurisdictions or counties may enforce even stricter local bans (such as existing stage restrictions on campfires in specific areas) that override general allowances.
