The department has free leaf bags available again this spring, thanks to a mini-grant from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources which covered the printing costs.
Before wildfire season begins, you can reduce your risk by removing fine debris around your home. Some places to look include gutters, decks, in hedges, and behind the old BBQ.
Bags are available at the Fire Station 10 (731 N. Wenatchee Avenue) front desk Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can always ring the bell after hours and we'll answer if we're home.
Our leaf bags also come with FREE disposal thanks to Stemilt Organic Recyclers. Simply take your filled bags to the Stemilt compost location at 1885 S. Wenatchee Avenue and drop them off for free!
There is a limit of ten bags per household.
Please contact the department with your questions at 509-662-4734.
