Fire Season is Here
The weather is starting to warm up and we’ve already had the first significant wildfire of the season; the Webb Fire burned approximately 550 acres in Douglas County on June 4.
As we move from Spring to Summer, this is a good time to remind the community of few key things:
An outdoor burn ban went into effect for Chelan and Douglas Counties on June 1 and will last until October 1.
Register for emergency notifications (including road closures and evacuation notices) in Chelan or Douglas County on Everbridge. You will find a link to their website on our Fire Resources Page.
Please take note of the current Fire Danger Level on signs around the valley and on agency websites. Here's a link to Chelan County's site.
Travel safely, don’t park in tall grass, secure trailer chains so they don’t drag and cause sparks, dispose of cigarettes safely in an ashtray or other appropriate receptacle.
Consider installing blue reflective address signs at the end of your driveway so first responders can find your residence.
