A Steering Committee, comprised of Chelan County and the cities of Cashmere, Chelan, Entiat, Leavenworth and Wenatchee and local Fire Districts are spearheading the update of the 2011 Chelan County Multi-Jurisdiction Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan Update.
The current plan is a comprehensive document that evaluates and identifies natural hazards, potential risks from those hazards, and projects to mitigate for and respond to hazard events. The 2011 plan is being updated to reflect a variety of changes over the last few years, including the integration of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan that will include additional detail on this hazard. It will also include updates to hazard events, new capital infrastructure and the completion of multiple hazard mitigation projects.
