The Greater Jennings St. Firewise Community are go getters. Firewise in a sense is what you make it, and I often find myself praising their drive and organization. This fall the District teamed up with eight neighborhood volunteers to reduce fuels around the perimeter of the community and improve emergency vehicle access down a long, narrow street. With a chipper and an endless supply of cookies we got a lot of work done! Wildfire is a shared responsibility of landowners and agencies alike and my (hard) hat's off to the Jennings community!
Big thank you to all, especially Pat Fitzgerald and Nancy Duffy for coordinating two productive days!
